Results 2018

Our Key Stage 4 GCSE results for 2018 are outlined below. The results indicated that our pupils once again achieved better than the national average in a number of different performance measures in 2018.

 

Achieving Grade 4 (C)+ GCSE in English and maths

Almost three quarters (71%) of our pupils achieved the new Grade 4 (equivalent to C) or above in English and maths. This is above the national and local authority average.

 

Achieving Grade 5 (C)+ GCSE in English and maths

Approximately half (47%) of pupils achieved Grade 5 or higher in both English and maths. This is also above the national and local authority average.

 

EBacc subjects

The vast majority of our pupils (89%) entered for the English Baccalaureate (academic) subjects and this is well above the local authority and national average.

Our EBacc average point score (APS) was 4.31, which was also above the national and local average.

 

Progress 8 measure

Our Progress 8 measure was -0.04, which indicated that our pupils made progress from KS2 to KS4 that was in line with the national average.

 

Attainment 8 measure

Our Attainment 8 score was 45.9, which was slightly above and broadly in line with the local authority and national average respectively.

 

Staying in education or entering employment

The percentage of pupils staying in education or entering employment after Key Stage 4 was 92%.

Our GCSE results have shown significant improvement over the last few years and Platanos College is now one of the top-performing schools in the country.
