Platanos College pupils celebrate excellent GCSE results
Our pupils celebrated their achievements in 2016 despite increasingly challenging exams and grade boundaries.
Achieving 5+ A*-C GCSE grades including English and maths
Over two thirds (73%) of our pupils achieved 5 or more A*-C grades including English and maths in 2016.
Progress 8 headline measure
The progress made by our pupils have always been outstanding in relation to the rest of the country and Platanos College has been recognised in the Mayor of London Gold Club and SSAT awards. 2016 was no exception.
The new, more rigorous Progress 8 measure introduced by the government to scrutinise pupils’ progress across at least 8 subjects indicated that Platanos College pupils achieve on average over half a grade higher (0.56) in comparison to other pupils across the country.
This places the school in approximately the top 2% of schools in the country for this measure.
DfE performance tables
Parents and carers may access the School Performance Tables published by the Secretary of State on the Department for Education's website (click here).
Further results and figures will be published once these are verified and become available.
Our GCSE results have shown significant improvement over the last few years and Platanos College is now one of the top-performing schools in the country.
